We are all familiar with the following, we arrive to the location and it may have been that we’ve never been here and haven’t had the time to walk around to hunt for good spots for portraits and stuff.
Well the good news is that situation gets better when we laser focus our attention on 2 important things: Light and Texture. If we simply sift through available space and look for those two, locations will come around naturally.
When it comes to the light it’s obvious that the light is what makes skin shine and colours pop. More light — more attention to what’s in the frame and beauty that’s in it.
The Texture on the other hand serves to multiple purposes, but we are going to focus on just 2. If we want to to create a certain mood we would emphasise the suede jacket on the person. Also, the background can work along with the person and enhance the final look.
So, if you are in the time crunch and want to have that hit made easy just follow the light and the texture. But if now you wonder — what about the framing — well, we’ll talk about that in the next topic.
